Mackey Barron

Mackey Barron
President & Founder

Mr. Mackey Barron, a lieutenant colonel and WWII Airforce pilot, returned home to establish HB Motion Picture Service in 1946. His primary vision, to provide audiovisual technology solutions to educational and corporate organizations, has successfully survived the last half century of technological advancements. With Mr. Barron’s help, HB has grown to be one of the largest communications company of its kind in the Northeast.


Dana Barron

Dana Barron
Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Dana Barron has been overseeing the explosive growth of the company for nearly twenty years. In addition to providing a strategic vision, he has
driven office automation projects and the implementation of processes in all aspects of HB, bringing the company to the forefront of current information systems technologies.


John Martin

John Martin
Chief Financial Officer

John is a relative newcomer to HB, joining the company in mid 2003. He comes to HB with extensive financial experience gained in the telecommunications, software and automotive industries. Prior to joining HB, John was CFO of TransPro, Inc. a manufacturing distribution company that he helped take public on the NYSE, and Engyro, Inc., an e-commerce start-up that he helped found.


Jim Burke

Jim Burke
Vice President – Northeast Sales

Jim has been in the AV industry for 25 years and with HB Communications since 1987. Jim started as a “full line” account representative covering Fairfield and Westchester counties, but was named as the director of new media upon its inception in 1994. This progressive department focused on the emerging non-linear editing market, as well as streaming media, broadcast video, asset management and various content creation tools. In early 2011, Jim became vice president – northeast sales focusing on the MA territory. Jim has been involved on major projects with WSBE, Quinnipiac University and Versus.


George Bing

George Bing
Vice President, Systems Contracting

Mr. Bing has more than twenty two years of experience in audiovisual sales. He has been with HB for the last 20 years, as a specialist in sales and project management of audiovisual and video display systems. Mr. Bing was named Vice President of Systems Contracting in 1999 and is now responsible for overall management of HB’s sales activities in the systems contracting marketplace.


Simon Davis

Simon Davis
Vice President – Northeast Region

Simon’s career within the commercial audio visual industry spans 26 years. He joined HB in 2004 as a senior design engineer, holds a bachelor’s degree in audio electronic engineering from Kingsway Princeton University in London, but has spent his entire professional career in the United States. Simon’s specialties include both analogue and digital audio and video design and his passion lies in performance arts complexes and large venue sports arenas. Some noteworthy projects that Simon has had the privilege of being intimately involved with include the Cleveland Browns Football Stadium, Cleveland, OH, Comerica Park (home of the Detroit Tigers) in Detroit, MI, Office Max’s Corporate Headquarters in Shaker Heights, OH, the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA, CBS Scene at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro MA, the MIT/Broad Institute in Cambridge, MA, the Commonwealth Museum in Boston, MA, National Grid’s Network Operations Center in Northborough, MA, Johnson & Johnson’s DePuy Institute in Raynham, MA and the Mass Emergency Management Agency in Framingham, MA.


Ted Thompson

Ted Thompson
Chief Technology Officer

Ted has been with HB since September 2001 and has twenty one years of experience in IT, fifteen years managing at the enterprise level.  Before coming to HB, he was the Director of IS for CNET Networks and Ziff Davis Publishing (eWeek, PC Magazine, Computer Gaming World) in Cambridge MA. In addition to Information Technology, Ted manages HB’s Professional Services teams for Telepresence, Collaboration and Unified Communications.


Tom Treichel

Tom Treichel
Vice President of Operations – Connecticut

Tom has been at HB since 1989 and has taken on many roles since joining the HB team. His duties as technician, installer and service tech prepared him to take on the challenges of his current position in operations. In this role, Tom has been instrumental in implementing and streamlining procedures in project integration. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the installation department. In the last ten years, Tom has contributed to the development of the only industry apprenticeship program for the company’s CT state license.


Howard Barron

Corporate Secretary

Mr. Howard Barron worked his way through all disciplines of the company. He presently serves as the corporate secretary, presiding over personnel issues, payroll and medical concerns. Howard works at HB’s Headquarters, in North Haven, Connecticut.

 


Mike Saviano

Mike Saviano
Vice President – Connecticut Sales

Mike has been an information technology industry professional for 30 years and with HB Communications since 2011. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Springfield College and attended Boston University School of Management. He started his professional career as sales manager at a New England based Micro Computer Company in the early 1980s. Mike then transitioned to Fleet Information Services in 1985 as a systems analyst and technical project lead for Fleet Investment Services working closely on investment products and systems. While at Fleet, Mike worked closely with the FDIC on business initiatives within the investment and commercial lines of business. In 1995, Mike was recruited to an engineering position at Cisco Systems in their Boston sales office and servicing the New England customer market.  Mike successfully managed professional positions at Cisco Systems for 16 years, as an enterprise systems engineer, commercial account manager, Unified Communications specialist and a channel development manager. Mike also volunteered his time and supported the Connecticut Food Bank while at Cisco Systems. Mike consulted on business solutions in banking, finance, higher education and manufacturing vertical markets.  Mike is responsible for overall management of HB’s sales activities in the Connecticut marketplace.


Peter Charland

Peter Charland
Vice President, Managed Services

Peter joined HB in Summer 2012, bringing 20 years of experience in managed and cloud services in the communications and collaboration sectors. His diverse experience includes work with early stage entrepreneurial firms, and large, global enterprises. He has held senior marketing and executive positions with EMC, Merlot Communications, CriticalPath and AT&T. When he was vice president at FaxNet, he lead sales and marketing efforts, which earned the company recognition on Upside Magazine’s “100 Hot Companies” list. He holds an MBA with Deans Honors from Columbia University, a BA from Stonehill College and has completed the program in strategic marketing management at Harvard Business School. Peter is responsible for HB’s managed service offerings and initiatives.
