HB was recently featured in Business Solutions Magazine for developing a Unified Communications platform

In the January issue of Business Solutions Magazine, HB Communications, Inc. was featured in the article “Get Ready for Unified Collaboration.” In the article, HB is recognized as evolving from a video conferencing specialist in the industry to now tackling the latest enterprise need – Unified Communications (UC).

The article discusses the changes, improvements and investments HB has made over the past year to develop a platform for Unified Communications. As stated in the article, it became clear that HB needed to develop new expertise – especially in the networking, telephony and desktop applications – to be successful. HB has risen to the task and continues to build an understanding and foundation for all UC business.

HB Mourns the Loss of Kevin M. Collins, Vice President

HB Communications, Inc. is sad to report the sudden passing of Kevin M. Collins, Vice President of HB Communications, Inc. Collins passed away unexpectedly in his home on January 26, 2011.

North Haven, CT; January 28, 2011 – The staff of HB Communications, Inc. mourns the loss of a treasured team member and friend, Kevin M. Collins, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Collins passed away at the age of 53 on Wednesday, January 26th in his home in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, Connecticut. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth T. Collins and two children, Caroline and Sean Collins.

Over the past 20+ years, Collins has been recognized as a driving force in the success and growth of HB Communications. In his position, he organized and managed the HB sales team, as well as guiding marketing efforts.

HB Communications has joined the Connecticut Technology Council trade association

As of the end of 2010, HB Communications is now a part of the Connecticut Technology Council. The Connecticut Technology Council is the largest and most broad based business association expressly serving the needs of enterprises involved in areas relating to technology, innovation and the commercialization of sciences.

As a CTC member, HB Communications can participate in many of the Council’s activities, including the CTC’s Annual CIO Forum. Last October, HB participated in the CTC’s Annual Tech Top 40 program, which honors various technology companies throughout the state in several categories.

System Contractor News Releases Top 50 Systems Integrators List

HB Communications is pleased to once again be recognized by the System Contractor News magazine as one of the Top 50 Systems Integrators of 2010. For the second year in a row, HB ranked #6 on the list.

The annual SCN Top 50 Systems Integrator listing compares companies and shows the health and prosperity of companies that make up this industry. The companies on the list are ranked by projected systems integration revenue for 2010. Entrants are asked to separate commercial AV systems installation revenue from total revenue.
