Job Title: Associate Engineer
Job Location: North Haven, Connecticut
HB is seeking an Associate Engineer performs routine engineering tasks using standard procedures. He/she works on small to mid-sized projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Surveys sites to determine needs in the areas of equipment and personnel.
  • Designs facilities and systems based on customers' needs.
  • Creates detailed drawings and proposals for facilities and systems using CAD programs.
  • Product research of materials required for designing/building Audio/Video (AV) systems.
  • Interprets architectural/consultant drawings and specifications.
  • Serves as a technical resource for sales personnel and customers.

Requirements:

  • Proficient with AutoCad.
  • Ability to read and understand signal flow diagrams.
  • Ability to create signal flow drawings based on an equipment list and system description.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural and millwork drawings.
  • Extensive knowledge of AV, control systems, architectural and cabling requirements.

ICIA-CTS-D desired. Associates degree in math or science or the equivalent work experience. Salary commensurate with experience.

Job Title: Drafting Technician
Job Location: North Haven, Connecticut
The Drafting Technician is responsible for the creation of electrical, architectural and detail drawings for the purpose of audio/video systems integration. Assignments are accompanied by rough notes, sketches, and instructions as to correct work methods and desired results. Work is performed under the guidance of an engineer or higher level draftsperson. Work must conform to instructions and accepted drafting techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical: Proficient in AutoCAD 2000 & MS Office applications.   Architectural drawing and electronics background a plus.  Computer literate.  Microsoft Outlook and Internet comfort.
  • Ability to read and understand basic information in architectural drawings, electrical drawings, and material of a related nature.  Ability to use drafting and computing instruments accurately.

Salary commensurate with experience.

Job Title: Project Manager
Job Location: Waltham, Massachusets
Jobholder is responsible for fully managing the installation of Audio Video systems to insure compliance with job specs. Manages all on-site personnel (e.g. installers, engineers, quality control). Insures compliance with contractual obligations

Ideal candidate has 5 years of construction PM experience and the ability to coordinate general contracting requirements with all other trade subcontractors.

Candidate Will:

  • Define installation methods, procedures and timing
  • Insure adequate resources
  • Prepare MS Project Gantt Chart for installation
  • Review Cable Pull Schedule
  • Elicit proposals from subcontractors to HB

Requirements:

  • Exp with A/V, system setup, troubleshooting, control systems, video projectors.

Job Title: Senior AV System Installer
Job Location: Waltham, Massachusetts
Jobholder is responsible for overseeing all other HB installers and all sub-contracted labor. Manages all phases of the installation and is the liaison between engineering and operations groups for on-site coordination. Insures complete testing of all equipment and that all customers are trained on all audiovisual systems.

Candidate Must:

  • Read and understand consultant bid specs
  • Develop plans and procedures relative to job requirements
  • Create and implement scope of work for sub-contracted laborers
  • Ensure that all areas of installation are in compliance with industry standards
  • Troubleshoot projector problems
  • Write, correct and troubleshoot AMX/Crestron control system software

Requirements:

  • Troubleshooting knowledge of projectors
  • Understands AV signal flow
  • Familiar with video technology (ie. CRT, LCD, ILA & DLP)
  • Understands network ISDN/IP systems
  • Knowledge of computer systems and operating systems
  • valid driver's license and be insurable by HB's insurance carrier
  • Complete understanding of OSHA requirements
  • Successful passing of ICIA's CTS test
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds

Job Title: System Installer
Job Location: Waltham, Massachusetts
Jobholder is responsible for overseeing Jr. Technicians in all phases of installation and ensure that all required equipment is available for the job. Interfaces with operations, engineering, customers and sales to ensure that the installation is completed according to job specs and that the customer receives the best possible service. Ensure that the installation stays on schedule.

Candidate Must:

  • Retrieve materials necessary to complete installation
  • Ability to provide guidance to Jr. installers

  • Review issues with quality control
  • Generate punch lists

  • Understands theory of Crestron/AMX control systems and is able to make basic code modifications in the field
  • Ability to read and utilize blueprints
  • Has knowledge of and adheres to HB and OSHA standards

Job Title: IT Technician
Job Location: North Haven, Connecticut

Candidate Will:

  • Handle IT Support requests and escalations.
  • Provide technical support to local and remote HB users.
  • Respond to and resolve Track-IT and/or SAP ticket assignments for IT support within established service level agreements.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues related to desktop, laptops, network, printers, PDA’s and other peripheral devices
  • Troubleshoot software issues related to Windows 2000/XP, Microsoft Office, Outlook, AutoCAD and other desktop applications
  • Help with all IT projects and requests including Move/Add/Change requests, migrations, departmental moves, etc.
  • Deploy or redeploy PC desktops using Ghost.
  • Help provide support for HB’s telecommunication systems. Including Siemens phones and switches, Verizon, Nextel and BlackBerry wireless phones and PDA’s.

Requirements:

  • Microsoft certification in Windows 2000/2003 & XP; MCSE and A+ certification.
  • College degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of computer hardware, operating systems functions and components. Must be familiar with multiple makes/models of desktops and laptops and be able to disassemble, troubleshoot and reassemble hardware. Experience with Dell systems a plus.
  • Experience using Ghost or other desktop imaging software
  • 4+ years desktop support experience in a Windows 2000/XP enterprise environment; 1+ years experience in project planning and coordination for desktop related work efforts
  • Experience with Track-IT or other incident tracking system
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Windows XP Professional; working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows and 2000, XP and Active Directory, Exchange and systems administration tasks.
  • Knowledge computer networking including experience with Cisco routers, switches and firewalls.
  • Experience with Dell PC’s and Servers a plus.
  • Experience troubleshooting network printers and LAN TCP/IP problems
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD a plus.
  • Experience supporting remote access clients via dial-up and VPN
  • Must be able to produce clear and concise written documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
