Unilever, HPC - Greenwich, Connecticut
The design criteria of the Enterprise Room at Unilever in Greenwich, CT was to create an integrated, user-friendly meeting environment with the latest video and data collaboration technology. Videoconferencing meetings take place almost daily, which is why creating a maintenance-free room with ease-of-use was a top priority. Three button pre-sets on the touch panel easily connect a videoconference call to anywhere in the world.
The multi-level room serves as a boardroom, presentation room, videoconferencing room, audio conferencing room and product showroom. It's equipped for computer-based, web-based, pre-recorded tape and video streaming presentations. Ten participant workstations outfitted with brushed stainless steel panels house connectivity for computer presentations, video presentations, videoconferencing and audio conferencing capabilities.
A Sony VPL PX31 LCD projector is located at the front of the room while two Sony PFM42B/1 plasma monitors on the side of the room display data or video. The custom programmed AMX NetLinx touch panel is built into a brushed stainless steel enclosure on the table. A Sony DXC755 document camera, for viewing 3-D objects and flat art, is built into the ceiling.

Executive Risk - Simsbury, Connecticut
HB was brought on board to provide a method for interfacing microphones, control systems and com/data connectivity within a uniquely designed and custom made boardroom table.
The table houses individual technology ports that incorporate Crown MB1 microphones for communication with the PictureTel videoconferencing system and the ProTek Series 2000 audioconferencing system. The tabletop control systems are linked into a PANJA Axcent-based touch panel, which controls all of the technology in the room. The touch screen, which also serves as a video monitor, can receive video feed and allows for a user to cue up a tape, control the lighting and adjust the sound.
The touch screen was designed to minimize menu hopping and maximize speed and efficiency. Audio video system configurations and room environment features are set with the touch of a single button. The window drapes close, lighting changes, sound distribution realigns and a Christie Marquee 8500 video projector extends from the ceiling via a motorized SVS lift. Other technical hardware such as a dedicated laptop and video teleconferencing equipment is hidden in integrated closets.
