Bessemer Trust - New York, New York
The challenge at Bessemer Trust was to build a tiered videoconferencing training room within the physical confines of 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. The impressive 70-year old building has structural columns on 24-foot centers. The limited spacing made for a challenging environment to integrate AV technologies into. Videoconferencing requirements dictating a maximum NC-35 rating made the situation even more complex.
The room depth requires a 100-inch diagonal screen in order to guarantee acceptable image viewing of business data to the rear row. The plasma screens provide video display principally for cable TV so investors can peripherally track ongoing financial developments.
The integrated plasma screens work well with the structural column space issue. Additionally, the acoustic design melds seamlessly with the request for solid wood paneling. Besides being able to easily read the projected information from the rear of the room, anyone can as easily hear and be heard via zoned and matrixed ceiling loudspeakers and microphones. The room acoustics and transducer selection yields good acoustics.
